COVID-19: States Struggled to Implement Cares Act Unemployment Insurance Programs

Abstract

This publication reports findings of a U.S. Department of Labor Office of Inspector General audit focusing on the Department of Labor's and states' implementation of three key new unemployment insurance (UI) programs: Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC).
