Abstract
This publication reports the results of a study on independent contractors conducted from 1998-1999. The reports topics include independent contractor classification; employer demand vs. worker preference; profiles of misclassified independent contractors and their employers; the magnitude of IC misclassification; and administrative and legislative responses of states to worker protection issues.
