Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence

Abstract

This resource is President Biden's Executive Order on the seucre and trustworthy use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The policy affirmed America's commitment to leading the way in harnessing the potential and addressing the risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI). This executive action established new standards for AI safety and security, protected the privacy of Americans, advanced equity and civil rights, advocated for consumers and workers, promoted innovation and competition, and bolstered American leadership globally. As part of the comprehensive strategy for responsible innovation under the Biden-Harris Administration, the Executive Order built upon prior initiatives, including the President's efforts that secured voluntary commitments from 15 leading companies to drive the safe, secure, and trustworthy development of AI.
