Abstract

Washington, D.C.'s Mayor Muriel Bowser has initiated a strategic plan for government agencies to implement artificial intelligence (AI), led by interim Chief Technology Officer Stephen Miller. Prioritizing AI safety and equity, the plan incorporates public input and includes an advisory group for "AI value alignment." The plan mandates alignment with values like cybersecurity and transparency, with the establishment of a testing facility for AI software. Agencies must develop AI-specific plans addressing performance and risks until 2026, alongside the creation of an Advisory Group on AI Values Alignment.
