Abstract
The article explores the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals accessing government services, emphasizing the importance of digital accessibility. With over a quarter of Americans having disabilities, the U.S. Department of Justice recently announced technical requirements for state and local government websites and apps to be accessible. By prioritizing accessibility in design, government agencies not only uphold principles of respect and dignity but also comply with laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act, promoting inclusion and representation in public discourse.
